We are a team of public lawyers passionate about human rights and refugee law.
The Public Law Department of Duncan Lewis Solicitors challenges the decisions of public bodies where there is no other right of appeal. We work fearlessly to bring justice for our clients and to make public bodies accountable. Many of our clients are asylum seekers and detainees.
This blog is edited and run by the Harrow Public Law Team, on behalf of the firm's Public Law Department.
The Harrow Team has been recognised by the Solicitors Journal, which shortlisted the team for Legal Aid Team of the Year 2017 and two team members, Lewis Kett and Director Toufique Hossain have been recognised by The Times as Lawyer of the Week.
Both Lewis and Toufique were recognised as 'highly commended' at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2017: Toufique for the 'Lawyer of the Year', and Lewis for 'Junior Lawyer of the Year'.
Ahmed Aydeed, who has now been promoted to Director of Public Law in Birmingham, was recognised as Junior Lawyer of the Year 2017 by the Law Society, and Krisha Prathepan was awarded Civil Lawyer of the Year 2017 by the Society of Asian Lawyers. In July 2018, Lewis was awarded Legal Aid Newcomer at the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) awards.
The current editor of the No Walls blog is Helen Baron, Senior Caseworker in the Public Law/Immigration Team at Duncan Lewis.
